In the end, I'm happy with my purchase and if Lg show's support in the long run, I'l continue with the G4.Welcome to /r/Essential, the official forum for all things Essential. You have to tinker a bit to stop the draining in stand-by. Ĭons: Crack's around the charging connecor and the speker grils, camera lens got scratched( I understand it's a coating over the lens), it get's quite hot when playing games and videos for a longer periods of time. The screen is quite reziliant to scratches, i've been using it without any screen protector since day 1 (with keys in my pocket) and there are no scratches. I love the small screen edges witch also make the whole phone smaller (5.2 inch screen with a form factor of 4.7 inch phone). the battery life (average 5 days with 5hr's of screen, 10hrs of music, 5 hr's of talktime - with wifi on demand, auto synk off, some background services disabled). So I will put the pro's and con's so far. I have the phone since october last year. but I mean a full blown kernel port with support for native Wifi-cracking/Injection capability and the other cool gimmicks in Nethunter. Yes I know, you can run it in a chroot like "linux deploy app", etc. However I think I have roughly found 4-5 people (including myself) who do not have the technical skills (yet?) to accomplish this task. So I think it should be possible to do that. The manufacturer (and most important the chip-set) of both phones is the same and despite some minor differences the are like twins. I have started a thread port-kali-linux-nethunter-nexus-5-to-lg-g2 asking for help and some kind of lead from knowledgeable "hackers" to port the Kali mobile penetration testing ROM "Nethunter" from Nexus 5 to LG G2. The first Official CM12 nightlies thread (which I think is kind of hidden in the G2-General subforum) is 4 days old -06.01.15- This and the fact that there is already a successor (G3) out, makes me regret having bought this phone. Go and look at the forums, there are a hand-full of native Custom-ROMs and rest is simply compiled and adjusted sources from other devices. I also have the impression that most of the more "cutting-edge-sophisticated" ROMs found in the LG-G2 sections are unofficial ports from other devices. The development progress (with all due respect to developers and their work) is not comparable to Nexus 5 or recent Samsung devices (which even have KNOX). Yeah, hardware specs are good but we still have a locked bootloader (despite loki etc.) which is quite bad in terms of freedom of device-use. Nu imi vine sa cred ca avem un thread aici.
